The summer before her senior year, Kate Jordan has her eyes set on a prestigious national track competition in August before school begins again. With mounting tensions at home. her own will to compete and self esteem issues forces her dream to take a back seat. Just when Kate’s dream is all but lost she meets June Adbury, a social recluse who had a bit of fame and fortune in high school track twenty years earlier. But due to a failing heart condition, cocky attitude and rumors of drug use and promiscuity June lost it all at a very young age. Seeing much of herself in Kate, June reluctantly agrees to coach Kate over the summer causing old wounds to open in June bringing stress to a boiling point in her personal life as the lines between coach and pupil blur. |
