What is the value of one person? Is there really nothing that you can do about the state of our society? Can you really not fight the systems? Can you really not fight city hall? Is it not social axioms like these that condition us into the understanding that one individual can not make a difference? And it is these social axioms that cause us to be cruel to those who give their life to make a difference. People in our society talk big but ultimately feel threatened if they see someone who actually has sacrificed themselves for the evolution of our society. Will we always feed Socrates his hemlock? Will we always nail Jesus to his cross? Will we always shoot Gandhi in the heart that he gave to us? And will we always encourage Wendell to commit suicide? |
