I found it predictable and very typical of any run of the mill slasher. Pretty much what I expected. In my view if you have seen one you have seen them all but I gave it a chance because Jamie is in it and I haven’t seen a slasher in decades. However if you are into this sort of thing you will probable really enjoy it
I thought this film was an interesting follow-up to the original. It had its moments of chills and thrills and I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was just totally kick ass! :D 4/5

I watched it on the first day that it hit the theaters and I had a really great time with this movie,

I genuinely don’t understand some of the negative comments this movie got. Now, i’ve never been a huge fan of this series. But this might be my favorite movie of all of them.
Ok, so I am getting absolutely positively SICK to death of old stars reappearing in new movies these days. Nostalgia factor has zero effect on me. They usually end up being less than stellar and bring down the film they appear in. But that’s not the case for this movie. This was good!
This movie was a simple and pure slasher, and I actually liked it. I didn’t think I would. I appreciate the simple ferocity.

What can I say? I disagree. No rose tented glasses on me, the original didn’t get any brownie points from me because i saw it as a kid - i watched the original and thought it was boring and didn’t age well. I watched this and thought it was good.
The director said that he was a huge fan of the original movie. Right. And THIS is the best he could give us? What a f**ing letdown this was. No tension, no creepiness, no stalking on the part of Michael. He just came in and killed. That’s it. No uneasiness of not knowing where he would emerge from. Nope. They butchered my childhood movie. And that pisses me off. Enough now, Hollywood! Everybody in this movie were making dumb decisions. Including Laurie, who should know better, right? Cuz she’s been preparing for years, right? From the first scenes with the podcasters, I knew that it would suck. And the dialogue. sigh*. Really? A doctor would allow them to do what the did? With police evidence? By the way, how did they get hold of such evidence? Podcasters? Nah. On and on it went along. I am thoroughly disappointed. But most of all, I’m disappointed that John Carpenter was involved in this massacre of his own classic. What’s with those old timers destroying their old creations, nowadays? Ugh. Avoid, to the die-hard fans.
You will forget about this movie 15 minutes after you watch it. Jamie Lee needed a payday. That is all this movie is about.

I thought this movie sucked! They completely forgot about most of the previous movies when writing this one. Some of which the person they dedicated this one to produced/directed. How is completely effing with his previous storylines (and those of John Carpenter) a dedication to him? What happened to Laurie’s son from H2O? Why isn’t Jamie from 4 and 5 mentioned at all? What happened to the fact Laurie was killed in Resurrection? This is definitely one I will not be watching again. The best thing about it was Jamie Lee Curtis.
You completely missed the point. This is a direct sequel to the first one, Making the other ones previously made not part of the cannon/story line. which John Carpenter(who had a hand in this) gave the green light to do, And now currently there are 2 more under production to finish the series. Not to mention H2O and Resurrection were terrible and should be wiped from the list all together imo.
I actually enjoy H2o. I love the fact that Jamie’s mom is in it for one thing. I still say this one sucked BIG TIME! I find it as bad as Halloween III, which I also refuse to watch again. Halloween II by Rob Zombie was better than this, and it is one of my least favorite movies. We all have our own opinions, and I will stick with mine when it comes to this movie. I have removed it from my playlist.
