‘Metropolis in the Making’ How do we conserve the past while building for the future? Can the fate of one historic building become a microcosm for what’s happening in Los Angeles and other major cities? The answers could lie within the historic Ambassador hotel, site of one of the saddest moments in U.S. history - the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy and home to an endless list of legendary performers (Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr.)and seven presidents from Hoover to Nixon. And what of the RFK assassination? Does the hotel hold clues to the secrets behind his killing? It’s one of the Key elements of “Metropolis in the Making”. Through interviews with renowned L.A icons such as Frank Gehry, Kennedy family members, and even (RFK) assassination survivor Paul Schrade, this documentary examines the infrastructure battle within the world’s most glamorous city as well as an examination into a tragic American event. |
