A thirteen year old boy arrives from school to find his Mum not in. He falls asleep from tiredness and wakes up. He notices his phone won’t turn on and when he tries the light in his room, it doesn’t either. A loud rumbling interrupts his intrigue and from outside his window three huge space ships rise from behind a house. He stands in amazement and runs up into the attic for a better view. They suddenly take off with a huge explosion, heading across the river in the distance. After wondering where his Mum could be, he finds a note on the hallway floor. It says she has gone to his grandparents house, so that is where he heads. While on his way, walking through the eerily quiet roads, he sees a spaceship when turning the corner. It zooms off behind him enabling him to continue his journey. Only behind, the ship stops and begins to follow… He arrives at his grandparents’ home to find the door wide open. He calls for them but no answer. As he walks through the house he notices a spilt drink and a knocked over bin and when he gets to the backyard, a glasses jumper lying on the floor. He picks the glasses up but the spaceship rises from behind a wall. He sprints back into the house, heading for the front door but another ship blocks his way. Retreating under the stairs, he hides in fear. Right in in front of the doorway, his two grandparents appear - a projection. Out of control, he begins to stand and walks towards them… Inside his head, in a dream; a memory he crouches to two bullies. They shout abuse at him and push him over. He musters up courage and raises his arm, about to punch. A vision of Earth appears, of the invader’s point of view. This makes the boy realize…they want his anger. He retreats and says he forgives the bullies. Back in reality, the ships fly off - he has defeated them. But one thing remains: his Mum. She is nowhere to be seen.
