“One Sunday” takes place in the American Midlands, the night of the Super Bowl. It’s already dark out when Paul and Robert, two local thugs, follow an elaborate plan to get a man, Jack, out of his house to watch the long-awaited game. As we follow the radio transmission of the game, we witness what appears to be a classic burglary in the shadow of the nationwide annual event. As the story and football game unravel, an underlying family division becomes clear. We discover a broken relationship between a father and his son, in an environment destroyed by drugs, the real topic of the film. |
