5 years ago, KC was at the top of his game. A popular contestant in Jamaica’s version of American Idol, this rising star plummeted when someone spread a devastatingly private video all over the JA media. The secret was out. KC was gay. Forced to flee Jamaica, KC now lives in New York City as a human rights asylee. But the land of opportunity may in fact not bear the fruit that his burgeoning artistic career in Jamaica had begun to sprout. In the summer of 2012, KC decides to face his demons and enter the real American idol, but doing so means revisiting the trauma of his Jamaican experience. He does the audition anyway… hoping that by doing so, he can free himself from his past. |
