The Dry Fields is a portrait of a lonely man, stricken from grief, and unable to move on from the losses in his life. Vast fields surround his house, as Howard walks through this desolate place he once called a home. He is stuck, unable to move on, desperately clinging to memories which slowly collect dust. But when a van crashes into a tree near his farmhouse, a young lost boy is thrown into Howard’s life. He finds him searching for food one night, hiding away from the surrounding Police. Soon the two confront their lives of isolation and the tragedies that have befallen them. As Police close in, Howard is forced to choose between what he wants and what is right, as the fate of the child falls into his hands. |
