This is the story of Joseph Schowles, who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his daughter Sophie has been missing for over a year. Sophie’s Den explores the relationship between Joseph and Sophie, her brother Isaac and mother Lydia, and also with her friend David, who Joseph thinks may have had something to do with her disappearance. It is a film that explores the need to accept and move on, as well as depression, self harm and the volatility of family relationships. On the outside they are a normal, white, middle class family, but behind closed doors they are at war with themselves. |
