This film takes place in post-apocalyptic Earth in which overpopulation has caused violence, epidemics, and starvation. The year is 2150. Already-fragile ecosystems have been exploited by farmers and fishermen because of an increased demand for food. Forests have been cleared to make room for ever-expanding cities and farmland. All of the factors contributing to global warming have been exacerbated with more waste, more production of consumer goods, and more need for electricity and cars. Our planet is being destroyed by chemical and plastic pollution, ozone depletion, global warming, deforestation, ocean acidification, resource depletion, farm runoff, and many other things. But the factor responsible for all of the above is human overpopulation. It is the “elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about.”
