Through the intriguing testimony of Enrique Hernández Armenteros, popularly known as “Enriquito of La Hata,” the documentary I Am Tata Nganga presents the life of this 93-year-old priest of Afro-Cuban religions—and, focuses on the mystical, magical world of Palo Monte. The film is a paean to the faith and spirituality of this man, who has dedicated close to 60 years of his life to helping others. It includes scenes in which Enriquito, his godchildren and others take part in various religious rituals in La Hata, Guanabacoa, and features a procession honoring Saint Lazarus the Miraculous.
