Conservative Kink is a take on the classic virgin-whore story that uses a mother-daughter relationship to explore stereotypic views of femininity: the virgin: content to aspire for domesticity, marriage and motherhood and the whore, who disavows any determinative connection to men. Conservative Kink examines questions women face everyday as they figure out what they want from themselves and love: is it OK to demand sex with no strings attached? Can you keep your identity and gain security if you settle down? And can you truly be secure if you’re anchored by nothing? Conservative Kink is about deviating from expectations of gender, the politics of sex, and what happens when dreams are yanked out of their vacuum. |
