An offbeat, at times amusing look at the growing commerce between the traditional horse-and-buggy Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and the millions of tourists every year who come to gawk at them and buy their wares. Although trade is a boon to the Amish, the constant contact with outsiders threatens to erode the traditional values that are the foundation of the Amish way of life: community decision-making, simple living, and quiet non-conformity. |
