I hadn’t seen this is in years, so I rewatched today, and it’s still as entertaining as before. Really good boxing by the principal characters, who I understand got real serious about training and readying themselves for the roles they played. Yes, there are some “ripped from the headlines” side plots, but this doesn’t detract; in fact, it helps round out Rhames as a talented but egotistical fighter who’s used to being cock of the walk. If you like prison movies/fight movies, check this out; it’s worth a watch. I’m on to the sequels next (there are three, and sensational Scott Adkins shows up along the way).
