The Allegory of the Cave written by the Greek philosopher Plato in his work ‘The Republic’, compares the “effect of education and the lack of it in our nature”. In this Short Film we show the two worlds, the modern Reality TV, instagram-addicted girls who have no idea of what is going on around them, and the literal world that Plato so beautifully described of self-prisoned beings in a cave. In both worlds one of the ‘prisoners’ become enlightened. One by reading and exploring cultural and intellectual works such as Voltaire, Magritte, Picasso and world news, and the other by simply leaving the cave and exploring the wonders of the outside world.
