Alisa and Simone are twin sisters who come from a long line of trapeze artists, they too who used to perform until “the accident” which has resulted in Simone being wheelchair-bound. Alisa feels responsible for that accident and her sister’s physical disability, but worse their father blames her for ruining the family business. To carry on that lineage, their father has arranged for Alisa to marry Manuel, a fellow trapeze artist. Alisa doesn’t love Manuel, which Simone knows. She also feels like she is abandoning Simone. But there is a deeper underlying reason Alisa doesn’t want to marry Manuel. When Simone discovers Alisa’s true feelings, she decides to make the ultimate sacrifice for her sister.
