Why do we go on vacation? To relax, just get away from everyday hassle and responsibilities? To “simply be”, as one says. Preferably on a beach in the sun. A paradise beach. The last dream of the good life? Rests of the collapsed utopias? On the German island of Rügen, Hitler ordered the building of one of the biggest vacation paradises ever attempted, Prora. But nobody came. Instead three armies have used it. Today we are left with the curse of utopia: The belief there is an accomplished, perfect order.
