On a clear Memorial Day Weekend, former cheerleader, Joan Caron jumped out of an airplane over a remote dropzone she helped create in Montana and plummeted 8,000 feet to her death. She was 30 years old when she died. What drove her to leave the suburbs of Seattle shortly after high school and relocate to San Francisco where she would start skydiving, eventually moving on to Medford, Oregon, and finally settling in Kalispell, Montana where she would help create Lost Prairie skydive center, home to one of the five biggest skydive events in the country. What drove Joan to continue on after suffering two serious accidents? What was Joan searching for? And, what events surrounded that fateful day? |
