In the not so distant future two large tech companies team up to make a new product called FaceBox, which offers, made to order, robotic versions of your friends from social networks. These ‘friends’ can be rented out from your local convenience store and will recite their own posts and show you pictures of themselves. We follow two estranged young lovers who try out this new technology in an attempt reconnect as best they know how. However, as they spend more time together we get the sense that they may have ulterior motives which will subvert expectations. This film was shot entirely with a mobile phone camera using the new smartphone app Vine.
