Skirting the existential for the self-referential, ‘Moving’ is a series of peripheral conversations between two workers on the job. Like a stranger tripping on cracks in the sidewalk, the ad-hoc immediacy of this micro-performance stumbles and stutters towards near face plants. In a way, it feels as if one is witnessing a joke narrating its own ill-formed mitosis. A la Beavis and Butthead, the intended audience seems to only ever consist of two; the rest of us just get to watch. |
