One of the wildest areas of the West lies on the Oregon-Nevada border, an expanse larger than Yellowstone National Park. Like Yellowstone, the Greater Hart-Sheldon Region is also a wildlife haven, home to more than 300 species including migrating waterfowl, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep and, significantly, the imperiled Greater sage-grouse. In The Land Between, viewers experience a remote yet beautiful lesser-known place where two wildlife refuges offer security to a diverse array of life. They also learn how the modern age is pressing on the land between the two refuges. The film calls for wise land stewardship to ensure that the Greater Hart-Sheldon Region remains a wildlife stronghold for generations to come.
