Filmed and edited in less than two weeks, Maui Eat Local Project documents the experience of seven Maui teenagers as they attempt to eat only food grown in Hawai’i for four days. Through sourcing and preparing locally grown food and visits to farms and supermarkets, these Maui teens learn about where their food really comes from on an island where over 85% of food is imported. The film was planned, filmed and edited by 11th and 12th grade students in Maui Huliau Foundation’s Huliau Youth Leaders program. |
