The GEANCO Foundation has a simple yet incredibly challenging goal - to save and improve the lives of the poor and vulnerable, especially women and children, in the African country of Nigeria. Rise and Walk was shot in 2011 in Nigeria during a medical outreach mission. The entire film was made on a shoestring as part of the outreach - a single cameraman toting only what he could carry in a backpack. The team eventually lit a surgery with the onboard LitePanel when the power failed at the hospital and the P.A. repaired the Autoclave with a paperclip and gaffer tape so that surgeries could continue. |
