A soldier is mortally wounded on the battlefield, and he enters a limbo. He finds himself at a pool table in the underworld, with Death standing before him holding a pool cue. The soldier picks up a cue and begins playing against Death. The balls are all red, representing his blood, save for the black ball, which finishes the game and decides if he lives or dies. The game goes on, and eventually only the black ball is left. It is Death’s shot, and he sinks it. The soldier dies on the battlefield. |
