Autumn, a young nicotine addicted mother living in the rust belt, finds herself in a place she never imagined: unhappily raising the child of a husband she no longer loves while juggling a relationship with another man. The only thing her son, hopeful 7-year-old Jayden, wants is to give his father the perfect birthday. After raiding his piggy bank, Jayden convinces Autumn to take him to the store for birthday candles and strawberry icing. Along the way, Autumn’s decisions and addictions not only jeopardize Jayden’s plan, but his life. |
