Chicken fish rabbit tells the short story of Vas, a 19-year-old who washes dishes in the grubby backroom of a Chinese restaurant kitchen. One evening he makes a surprising discovery that forces him to make a quick decision. This film, which tells a short story of endearment, tragedy and misunderstanding, features no (understandable) dialogue. Save for those who understand Cantonese. Using only the talents of a young actor, the hardworking efforts of a team of young aspiring filmmakers, and featuring a colorful and almost cartoonish art direction, this self-produced short film was the result of a lot of love, wild enthusiasm, and foreign inspiration. |
