Samuel, an isolated dry cleaner, finds himself reconnecting with his bullied grandson, Eli, after he becomes the subject of the young man’s art project. After hearing about his grandfather’s narrow escape from the holocaust, Eli decides that his animated story on the old man might help him graduate and secure a scholarship he desperately needs. But underneath Grandpa’s stubbornness is a severe case of PTSD that could put the whole project, along with their relationship, in peril.
