Set against the background of WWII Germany, Endstation Heimat follows the relationship between a young boy and his mother. In the absence of his train driving father Karl keeps a model railway running meticulously on time, believing his efforts will hasten his return. The film follows the inevitable daily battle between a mother trying to run her home and a son whose only interest is in running his railway. |
