In memory of Canadian artist and filmmaker Joyce June Wieland, the film is the Director’s attempt to capture his experience of knowing Joyce.The two met when Munro was a young child, and Joyce later became his friend and art teacher, introducing him to cartooning and filmmaking. June is a stereoscopic animation, made using SANDDE¿, Part 1, Alzheimer’s, is bout the end of Joyce’s life. Part 2, Memory, is about what the artist was like during the height of her creative powers. |
