One of my favourite films ever. Just brilliant.
Agreed, it’s a brill & magical movie. I was fortunate enough to see it on the big screen when it came out. Bought the dvd so have watched it many times over the years.
Also saw it on the big screen with family and friends. I found it delightful. We all went out and bought the soundtrack and played it over for many years.
Jeunet’s films are so filled w/weird & wonderful characters & things. Amelie is light & whimsical for him since most of his movies tend to have darker themes visually & thematically & filled w/lots of dark humor which I love. His 1st film ‘Delicatessen’ is great & fits that bill to a T.
I love this movie. It brings back lots of memories. I saw it on my first visit to Paris in the fall of 2001. That feels like a lifetime ago now…

Yeah. A thanks to that movie, i became a better friend to my neighbor who was exactly like Amelie. I couldn’t find the movie back then in Fulham to make her watch it also, but she did get a mouthful from me as it was all i talked about for the first 3days after i got back.
