When Emily is dragged to the country so her mother can pursue a new relationship, she seeks refuge in the neighboring farm boy, Joel. At first a ploy to regain her mother’s attention Emily begins to fall for Joel as she urges him to escape his violent brother. As her relationship with her mother disintegrates Emily also wants to leave. But sometimes patterns of behavior are not that easy to escape. |
