The story of a 10-year old boy who is sensitive to love, and the lack of it, in his downtown neighborhood. He tries to shake off the injustices he encounters with his friends and quarreling parents, but when all else fails, he retreats into a dream where he imagines punishing those around him by faking his own death. At first he revels in their guilt and remorse, but after a lyrical sequence in which he finally gets the affection and acceptance he seeks, he abruptly awakens to see his parents, in a conciliatory gesture, moving towards him. |
