‘Schwestern’ is the story of Nancy, a 15-year-old mixed race girl and her younger half-sister Sophia, who go on a quest of returning an unwanted present Nancy receives at the school’s Christmas party. Their journey through Berlin brings Nancy and Sophia closer, but also forces Nancy to evaluate herself within her world, a world that despite the glittering Christmas lights is complicated and confusing. Very much a coming-of age story, Nancy and Sophia deal with what it means to be different, and yet to accept one another for that very fact. |
