An upper-caste but naive Brahman, Kali, falls in love with a lower caste woman, Pushpavali, much to the chagrin of his step-mother, who asks him to leave. Both Kali and his sweetheart are forced to depart, and end up in the kingdom ruled by an arrogant princess, who hires Pushpavali as a singer. Then Kali will find his life changed forever when he will be asked by a sage to compete against the princess. |
