Adam is a short documentary that follows the voice of an eponymous guide. Adam has his PhD in Astrophysics and works in the field of physical cosmology. He also happens to be a young Jesuit training to become a priest. While he relates his motivations to become a Jesuit and describes the telescopes he builds, viewers are transported through the stars about which Adam speaks via a collage of found footage, including heavenly images from NASA. In an age of science versus religion, Adam asks us to reconsider whether these two disciplines are as contradictory as they may appear. The film is ultimately a hymn to that most basic human desire to understand what we are made of and why we are here. |
