A wild Alaskan coast provides the setting for a thought provoking story of passion, cultural conflict and shifting values. Set in 1870, a very feminine Victorian tourist, with an interest in native traditions, becomes enchanted by the ‘quaint and primitive’ beliefs she is studying. She meets a Tlingit (Coastal American Indian) man who is struggling to adapt to a rapidly changing world. Both individuals become physically and emotionally seduced while exploring parallel and contrasting worlds. Poignant and provocative performances by Ishmael Hope and Anna Gagne-Hawes unfold on a rugged, untamed, misty backdrop. |
