Details:

A documentary about cinema. Part 1 is about the early days and the invention of the medium. Part 2 deals with pre Word War I movies. Part 3 is about the influence of the film The Cheat (1915) and the progress of modern techniques: moving cameras, stunts, special effects, makeup, crowd scenes, color, 3D, and all the scientific research about it. Part 4 deals with the current tendencies: pictural cinema, expressionism, rhythm. Part 5 shows how to make a film and finally, the final part gives a glimpse of the future.
