Excellent documentation on a modern day witch hunt that sent several men and women to jail on the word of one person claiming child abuse. It reminded me of the McMartin trial. This was heartbreaking to hear how they had to fight to prove their innocence. I don’t want to say too much more other than Sean Penn narrates it and it is the type of documentary that has you in awe with your jaw on the floor knowing that this can happen in America.
I was not aware of many of the names you brought up. You are right Satanic Panic was coined in the media around the time that case after case finally had been reviewed by level headed non bias judges. It pains me to hear of the ones that felt so hopeless that they plea guilty not because they were but to hopefully get out and rebuild their lives one day. Those people will never be eligible for relief of their circumstances. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject. Also enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)
