KURT SCHLYCHTER, a meticulously lethal mob enforcer and son of an SS officer, has discovered that his employer, the boss of a crime family, may soon be the key to his indictment. He begins the systematic elimination of all those who could lead to his capture. Special Agent MICHAEL CARBONE is reluctantly enlisted to pursue Schlychter, but given the unusual constraint not to apprehend him. As people turn up missing with no leads, Carbone grows concerned for the safety of those around him. When Carbone’s wife receives a warning message in the form of an FBI agent’s severed finger, he must decide whether to abandon the case or continue in the face of a boss with ulterior motives, and inside sources working against him. When D.A. LAURA CONSOLO is targeted by Schlychter, Carbone realizes that the mob enforcer will stop at nothing and escalates his pursuit.
