A tree spans gap between the underworld, the earth, and the heavens. This film dives into the unconscious realm in which a tree can represent a lover or a parent, an adversary or a patient friend. In this film a young woman takes clings the branches of a wizened Elephant Tree, far from the chaos and frustrations of daily life. Eventually she must release her grip and embrace the unknown. Experimental photography techniques document the dance and choreography of Tlathui Benavides Trejo. Featuring music by cellist Michael Severens. Filmed (with great respect) in threatened ecological areas of Guanajuato, Mexico. |
