Details:

True story. Stephen Cochran grew up in a musical family. After the “9-11” attacks, Stephen enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He became a member of the elite Force Reconnaissance (a “recon” Marine), and deployed to combat in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. There, an explosion severely injured Stephen. He was unconscious for a month, lost the use of both legs, and was told that he would never walk again. While undergoing physical therapy at the Veterans Affairs medical center in Nashville, he elected to undergo a unique experimental surgery. Four pounds of a special cement was injected into his spine, which was realigned to relieve the pressure on his nerves. Not only did Stephen regain the ability to walk, but he can now perform musical acts on stage. Stephen Cochran made this video, “Hope”, as a way to express his gratitude to the Department of Veterans Affairs and to encourage other disabled veterans to keep going in their pursuit of better health.
