Set in an apocalyptic world caused by the revolution in the worldwide early 21st century recession. A gritty look at the problems found through revolution and the possibilities for man to change in a world where political and social class differences, mixed with polarizing issues, led past argument to hatred to the fall of man. We find a broken desert of a world ruled by Anarchists who wanted no control yet now control it all, and rebels, once part of an establishment, who now realize how they took advantage of all the world once offered them. Through the chaos comes the mysterious Drifter, a man who for some reason, left the city to live in the desert years before war turned the rest of the world into one. He comes across a group of rebels in what’s left of Phoenix, led by Taylor, a young girl who’s life experiences, before and after the way, leave her one who’s lived a lief far beyond her years. The Drifter ultimately gets the group to follow him and his seemingly pointless quest for a rumored lake up north somehow attached to his past. Along the journey, through endless deserts, city ruins, firefights with anarchists, thunderstorms with no rain and crazies (not anarchist, not rebel, barely human) the Drifter finds what he’s looking for, and not in the place he thought he would.
