In Chile, where abortion remains illegal and punishable by imprisonment, we follow Mafe, a young activist who puts her life at risk to run an underground abortion hotline. Mafe is backed by a group of trusted volunteers. They dedicate their evenings answering calls, advising pregnant women in distress. Their goal: to inform callers about Misoprostol, a pill used to treat ulcers, but that can also induce an abortion. The trials and tribulations of the hotline are at the center of the story and continues to develop alongside those of other parties involved in this ongoing debate.. After a heated presidential election campaign in 2013, the president, Michelle Bachalet, has pledged to loosen certain laws related to abortion - a first in Chile’s history. What will this mean for the hotline? Is their fight finally coming to an end or will they have to work even harder to ensure that the president’s commitments are fulfilled?
