Predator came out in 1987. This came out three years later in 1990 but the opening title card says “1997” meanwhile that synopsis of the film reads: “Ten years after…” I wonder why they advanced it to the future by 7 years. It doesn’t really add to the storyline other than them trying to make this something that occurs every ten years….Not a review or a spoiler just wondering if anyone has any insight production wise why they did that?
They wanted it to be a bit futuristic. Look at the guns the cops use.
10 yrs isn’t really futuristic. that’s not even a full generation. why not make it 2000? everyone was obsessed with the year 2000 at that time anyway.
Just an observation. I think it really affected the overall movie and audience reception.
