After a global climate change life on earth was reorganized. State borders became meaningless. In the livable areas of the world the survivors fled into enormous city-cubes. In these city-sized floating complexes pleople are healty and they live their everyday life in peace and quiet. So that it can operate under controlled circumstances, all CQ residents must be fitted up with a microchip, thus the world is under a unitary, centralized management. Every minute of the CQ residents’ life is controlled by the Global City Council, and its own army, the GCC-Army, is responsible for the law and order. But a gruesome fact lies behind the Council-leaders’ pretence ideology: preparing for the arrival of an extraterrestrial colonizer civilization. Judy the Shifters’ superspy, while fleeing, accidentally takes two boys with her from the far past. Our protagonists get into a global war in the future that the Shifters and a handful of rebels wage against the traitor council members and the alien colonists. To save the world and restore her own mistake, Judy gives the boys a Shifter that they can use to get back into their own time, leaping time and space with hundred-year increments. The way back is only seemingly simple as unexpected dangers, events, and a series of obstacles complicate our heroes’ lives.
