Road to Fureidis is a distinctive behind-the-scenes documentary that follows a group of Muslim and Jewish women working together to make their first film. The women are attending a documentary course in an Arabic village in Israel called Fureidis, which ironically in Arabic means Paradise, and is a paradise in its own way. It is a place where a group of women pay attention to what makes them similar rather than different against a backdrop of intense hostility. The technology they are learning to use changes their way of thinking, giving them the confidence to improve their own lives as well as have an impact on the rest of the community. |
