Cultural differences can be amusing as well as tragic or simply embarrassing. ‘Expectations’ tells two stories about three young girls in the Emirate’s society who are confronted with cultural differences. They share the same father but not the same mother. They share the same family name but not the same country. Layla and Nouf are sisters or better half-sisters and meet for the first time. Due to ‘expectations’ an explosive sisterhood ends in acceptance. They met on Facebook. She is from the U.S., He is from the U.A.E. Becky arrives to meet her oriental prince Abdullah. Intrigued and curious about his culture, they start to overcome cultural barriers. |
