Kelsey, his girlfriend pursues the issue, following him across the winter wind-swept Lake Michigan lake front in a high wind. Exhausted, he stops and tells her that he was downwind from a chemical dump in the war, and his whole unit was exposed to possible nerve gas contamination, and he was sick. She is socked. They regroup in their apartment and try to re-bond, but there is something already in his mind. He has become politically radicalized, and she cannot talk reason into him. After he is gone, she ponders on the Lake Michigan beach and then later in her apartment, understands what he is about to do. It is then she finally understands him. But of course it is all too late. 16mm BW film, shot on a CP 16 with sync sound. Chicago, Illinois, Ukrainian Village, upper Loop downtown, Chicago city Lake Michigan shore parks.
