= Low Quality | = Medium Quality | = High Quality | How do I watch these? |
Lots of ways this flick can lodge itself as a weird memory. Debbie Harry from Blondie had a significant early role. With Woods no doubt.
“Videodrome is the retina of the minds eye” Or something to that effect.
“The television screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. So whatever appears on the television screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it”, ergo the tv is the retina of the mind’s eye.
Even though I had it wrong that line has stuck with me for 40yrs Hah!
No kidding! Not into the whole body horror thing, but that hit me hard when I was younger. Cigarette burns are the least of it.
I am still mentally disturbed from the last time I watched this movie. I don’t think I will ever recover.
Too funny!
Grrrrrreeeeat! 5/5✨
This movie messed me up for life!
And in all the very best ways.
Saw your comment so came by because I remember that movie from looong ago and only that it was disturbing. So I watched it, lol. Yea, I can see why this kinda freaked me out a bit as a kid. Even for today’s standards, it’s still weird, lol. Nice trip back and love James Woods so it was a ol’ win. =o)
Oh man, the DVD release of this included a perfect little companion short film by him which is EASILY one of my top 5 favorite shorts ever, “Camera” (6min) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC7YsHWoX5A
I love Cronenberg to hell and back. For like 20 years he makes the most insane abstract/psychological body horror (I particularly love his psychotic adaptation of Burrough’s Naked Lunch), and then out of nowhere suddenly makes two insanely strong, Oscar nominated films of totally different genre/tone (A History of Violence, Eastern Promises).
I wanna be pen pals with himmm
This flick for 1983 was oddly weird and kinda freaky scary especially for a lil kid. That’s about the time some good monster stuff was coming around and the 80’s was the jumping spot and Cronenberg was a part of it like Scanners, The Fly, Dead Zone some interesting films. Anyway, it’s a throwback, it’s called ‘Video’ drome after all. =o) Yet worth the turn to see what some of those years of film were like. So, I suggest watch the trailer and give it a spin. Even for nostalgia, it’s a fun trip back, enjoy.
This movie is weird, entertaining but weird.
If you have ever wondered about those Cronenberg references in Rick and Morty then this can help you with that.
Should I watch this sober? No, I cannot recommend that.
well the trailer said comming soon ! so i guess we wait ? lmfao ‘’’’ hahahaaa
