A wake-up call about wars without meaning, intertwined with two 20-somethings’ journey through Vietnam, a country they assumed still viewed them as ‘the enemy’. After offending a village chief, crashing a wedding, and meeting face to face with victims of warfare dropped by their own country, these young Americans see, for the first time, the reality of a war that continues to kill and maim the innocent nearly forty years after it ended. The unexpected warmth and love offered by the Vietnamese people proves to be an extraordinary example of forgiveness and a lesson on the detrimental effects of war and the mass-media propaganda that promotes it. |
